Description
- The Anycubic Kobra 3 Series / Kobra 3 Max Extruder Components Assembly: is the dual-gear direct drive mechanism responsible for feeding, retracting, and precisely metering filament into the hotend during high-speed printing (up to 600 mm/s).This module houses the hardened steel drive gear system, stepper motor integration interface, tension lever spring mechanism, and the integrated mechanical filament cutter mechanism used during multi-color filament purges with the ACE Pro system.
- Dual-Gear Direct Drive System: Utilizes hardened steel drive gears with high reduction gearing to deliver high torque, preventing filament slipping and grinding under rapid acceleration.
- Integrated Mechanical Filament Cutter: Built-in cutter lever mechanism cuts the filament tail cleanly above the heat break during automatic color changes and retract sequences.
- High Volumetric Flow Performance: Optimized gear geometry ensures smooth pushing force across flexible (TPU) and rigid high-temp filaments (ABS/PET-CF) without buckling inside the feed path.
- Adjustable Tension Mechanism: Features an adjustable tension screw to fine-tune gear grip force according to the hardness and flex of the material being extruded.
Specifications

- Drive Type
- Dual-Gear Direct Drive
- Filament Compatibility
- 1.75 mm (PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, ASA, PET-CF, PA-CF)

- Inspect Drive Gear Teeth Periodically
- Filament dust or plastic shavings can build up between the dual gear teeth over time. Clean the gear teeth using a small wire brush or compressed air to prevent feeding slippage.
- Set Correct Idler Tension
- Avoid over-tightening the tension screw on soft materials like TPU to prevent deforming the filament into an oval shape, which causes clogs inside the lower PTFE throat tube.
- Verify Cutter Blade Alignment
- After mounting a replacement S010349 assembly, manually actuate the cutter lever to confirm the internal spring returns the blade fully so it doesn't obstruct incoming filament.
